Attached is the June Voice of Hope Newsletter.  The newsletter is missing Pastor Carol’s article, so we have it included in this email (below).  We hope you enjoy reading about the many events going on in the life of our church.  vofh 2022 June

Grace and peace to you, Hope Lutheran Family,

OUR SUMMER WORSHIP SCHEDULE begins May 29 and continues through September 4. We will worship the first Sunday of each month outside, Under the Pines (July 3, August 7 and September 4).

On Pentecost Sunday, June 5, we will celebrate with seven children who have been prepared to receive their First Communion and nine graduating seniors.  To let them know how special they are to us, let’s throw a CARD SHOWER for each of these young persons as they mark these milestones in their lives!  We will also be installing our 2022-2023 church council that morning in worship. Festivities will continue with a cupcake reception, following worship!

Summer is upon us, bringing a time of refreshment to many of us who have been volunteering during the program year (Sunday School teachers and leaders, quilters, Befrienders, etc.). At the same time, as we continue to find our ‘new normal’ with ‘in person’ church, we are gearing up for more opportunities to serve as worship leaders and Sunday morning fellowship hour hosts. Evelyn Preston does a marvelous job coordinating our worship leaders. This month she will be looking for additional volunteers to set up and clean up for weekly communion on the weeks we worship inside (all except the first Sunday of the month). Please consider contacting her to get yourself scheduled as a worship leader (lector-reading lessons, usher, communion set-up/server)!

All of us enjoy the opportunity to visit with one another during Coffee Hour on Sunday mornings. While we’d like to be consistent in offering refreshments every Sunday, we haven’t quite gotten back into the routine of people volunteering regularly to bring and set up weekly refreshments. I’d like to see us back into full swing of dependable weekly Coffee Hour by the fall, and for now, the summer is a good time to practice! Please consider signing up to host coffee hour on the sign-up sheet displayed by the coffee urns in the Narthex.

Finally, please remember to hold your call committee and your new pastor (whoever that may be) in your prayers!

Peace,

Your Interim Pastor, Rev. Carol Baumgartner
